Cohen Bramall made his debut for Arsenal Under-23s on Monday night – and fans took to Twitter to praise his display.
They had their first look at the January signing – the only arrival at Emirates Stadium to date in the window – after he completed a romantic transfer from non-league Hednesford Town last week.
Bramall, 20, lined up on the left side of the defence for Steve Gatting’s side away to Southampton on Monday and played 83 minutes of the clash.
It was a successful bow for the £4o,000 arrival as Arsenal dominated the match and ran out 3-1 winners.
The development side went a goal down but came back strongly through goals from Stephy Mavididi, Eddie Nketiah and Chris Willock to take all three points in the Premier League 2 fixture.

Supporters were impressed by their first sighting of left-back Bramall, who was playing semi-professional football only weeks ago, and are looking forward to him making the step up to first team football.

Arsenal wrapped up the signing last week of the defender, who is principally a left-back but can also fill in at left midfield.
Initially, he will not be in Arsene Wenger’s first team squad as he learns the ropes for the development squad in Arsenal’s Under-23s set-up.
That’s right, it’s official

The Mirror claim the deal cost Arsenal just £40,000 and Bramall has signed a contract which will keep him in London until at least 2019.
The former non-league star is the club’s first January signing, although they have been linked to a number of targets.
In other Arsenal news, the club have agreed terms to sign up a second defender this month.
