Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Giroud display against Bournemouth
By Harry Sykes
Olivier Giroud scored a last-gasp equaliser for Arsenal in their 3-3 draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday night – and fans took to Twitter to hail his display.
Giroud scored one of the goals of the season in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, when he broke the deadlock with a sensational ‘scorpion’ goal.
The France international cut a frustrated figure for much of the clash at the Vitality Stadium after being handed only his third Premier League start of the season.
He was barely involved in the opening 70 minutes as Bournemouth went 3-0 up through goals from Ryan Daniels, Charlie Fraser and Callum Wilson.
But Arsenal mounted a sensational late comeback that was inspired by Giroud. He provided assists for an Alexis Sanchez diving header and a fabulous volley from substitute Lucas Perez before heading the equaliser two minutes into injury time to rescue a point for his side.

Arsenal fans were impressed by the contribution of the France international, who has now scored eight goals despite spending most of it playing second fiddle to Sanchez.

Despite our poor performance, Giroud deserves a lot of credit. A striker going back to defend. Such work rate deserves recognition. #AFC

Giroud’s really come alive in last 20 mins. Set up Perez who finished superbly. Howe looking nervous. #afc

Giroud’s late heroics ensured that Arsene Wenger’s side return to London with a point, to lift their tally for the league campaign to 41 points from 20 matches.
Arsenal are eight adrift of leaders Chelsea, who will go 11 clear of their bitter rivals if they beat Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
In other Arsenal news, the Gunners have lodged a £28million bid for a Juventus player.
