Arsenal fans react on Twitter as Allegri gives verdict on reported talks

By Will Butcher

Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter after Massimiliano Allegri rubbished reports that suggested he has struck a verbal agreement with the Gunners.

The Daily Express claimed on Sunday that Juventus manager Allegri has been locked in talks with the Gunners since last summer, as Arsene Wenger’s contract is set to expire in June.

However, in quotes published by Goal, Allegri dismissed claims that he has agreed anything with the north London giants with his contract at Juventus set to run until the summer of 2018.

“I repeat what I have already said before – it’s not true,” Allegri said. “The second thing, even if there was something in it, the first to know would be Juventus. I’m contracted until 2018.”

Allegri has been repeatedly linked to the Arsenal job as doubts continue to rise over Wenger’s future, who is now in his 21st season with the north London giants.
