Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale hailed by Campbell after 'brilliant' footage emerges
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for his “brilliant” distribution.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners striker said the 24-year-old’s passing was pivotal to Mikel Arteta’s side bypassing Crystal Palace’s press on Friday.
Ramsdale impressed in a 2-0 win for Arsenal at Selhurst Park on the opening day of the season.
As relayed by Troopz Podcast on Twitter (6 August), the England international demonstrated his kicking ability during the clash.
The ex-Bournemouth shot-stopper also produced key saves to prevent Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze from scoring for the hosts.
When asked by Football Insider how important Ramsdale’s distribution was to Mikel Arteta’s side, Campbell said: “It is really important.

“Against a team like Crystal Palace, who press you and get in your face, a goalkeeper who distributes well can get them turning and get you on the attack.
“Ramsdale messed up a couple of times in the back end of the first half when trying to get the ball out. It put Arsenal on the back foot and it invited Palace on.
“But he is not the Arsenal number one for no reason. He made a good save in the first half from [Odsonne] Edouard. He was in the right place at the right time. That was excellent. He also made a good save one v one against Eze.
“That kept Arsenal in the lead. His distribution and all-round play was very good. We need that to get the team going, especially in the second half when Palace were almost playing 4-2-4. I thought he was brilliant.”
