Arsenal handed major player boost ahead of clash against Manchester United

By Emma Sanders

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the clash against Arsenal following the international break after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Swansea.

The Manchester United forward will sit out the game at Old Trafford as he serves a one-match ban and Arsenal will be boosted by the news their opponents’ star striker will be absent.

The 35 year-old was on the score-sheet for the first time in 12 games as Manchester United recorded a comfortable 3-1 victory against Swansea on Sunday.

Since joining Jose Mourinho’s side in the summer, Ibrahimovic has netted six goals in 16 appearances in all competitions, though he has struggled to hit top form in recent weeks.

Arsenal had a disappointing weekend as they dropped down into fourth position in the Premier League table after failing to breakdown Tottenham’s defence in their 1-1 draw.

The north London derby ended even as Manchester City also dropped points against Middlesbrough, meaning Arsenal missed out on a golden opportunity to move to the top of the table.

The Gunners have not lost a game since the opening weekend defeat against Liverpool and will be hoping to record their fifth league win in seven games against United on the 19th November.

In other Arsenal news, Granit Xhaka posted this verdict on Instagram following their 1-1 draw against Tottenham.
