Arsenal idol '100 per cent' sure on William Saliba after journalist's contract update
Kevin Campbell is adamant William Saliba will put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker is “100 per cent” sure the 21-year-old “is going to be a big part” of the club’s future.
Saliba has excelled in pre-season for Mikel Arteta’s side and started Saturday’s 6-0 win over Atletico Madrid.
The centre-half has two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates.
According to journalist Freddie Paxton (22 July), the France international has agreed to sign a new deal at the London club after positive talks prior to the US tour.
When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the news, Campbell said: “That is going to get done, 100 per cent.

“You can tell he is going to be a big part of Arsenal’s future. The club have been following his progress in France and they know the player they have.
“A new contract has to get done. They have to protect the value of the player. They want to make sure they have got him for four or five years.
“He is not going to be going anywhere. He will be at Arsenal for the foreseeable future.”
Saliba impressed while on a season-long loan at Marseille in the 2021-22 campaign.
He made 51 appearances across all competitions and won Ligue 1’s young player of the year award.
