Ian Wright has launched a scathing attack on Mesut Ozil after the playmaker took to social media to post a celebratory picture following Arsenal's 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil were enough to see off a sluggish Chelsea side at Emirates Stadium.

However, Arsenal legend Wright and his broadcast colleague Rio Ferdinand were not happy after seeing what the German midfielder had published on Instagram and Twitter following the victory.

Ozil posted a selfie to his personal Twitter account that showed him with Arsenal's three new signings Granit Xhaka, Lucas Perez and Shodran Mustafi and included the message, 'that's the football our supporters deserve".

Wright told BT Sport: “You listen to Theo talking about the experience and how this squad is and what they’re doing, I think this just spurs people on, you don’t need to do that now.”

Rio Ferdinand backed up Wright in the point he was making, suggesting that a picture like that would only spur him on for the next time he faces the Gunners.

“I’d do that when I’ve won something. Unless you’re winning and you’re a team that’s been winning.

“I just think it gives everyone else the ammunition, you haven’t got to have a team talk, I’d put that up as a picture in the changing room next time I play Arsenal.

"The Chelsea players by the way when they go back to Stamford Bridge they’ll be going ‘remember that time they had them selfies'."

Arsenal now sit third in the Premier League and will travel to Turf Moor next Sunday in hopes winning their fifth league game on the spin.
