Arsenal tipped to seal blockbuster Odegaard and Buendia signings after key updates - pundit

Arsenal need strength in depth and should break the bank in the summer to sign both Martin Odegaard and Emiliano Buendia.

That is according to ex-Gunners striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Eurosport reported that Arsenal are readying a bid for the 24-year-old playmaker Bunedia ahead of the window opening in May.

The Norwich City man has been in fine form in the Championship this season and has 22 goal contributions (10 goals, 12 assists) for the league leaders.

Fellow attacking midfielder Odegaard meanwhile signed for the club on loan from Real Madrid in January and recently hinted at making the move permanent.

He told Norwegian outlet VG: “I think it’ll be important to find stability. I’m very happy at Arsenal, enjoying myself. I like it here. Now my focus is to finish the season, then we’ll see.”

Campbell claims that Arsenal need the sort of depth which the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea boast and that it would be wise to add both players to their roster.

He told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “They could sign both Odegaard and Buendia. You can never have enough quality players.

“You only need to loot at Manchester City and Chelsea’s squads, there are quality players everywhere. There’s quality on the pitch and quality on the bench.

“You have to fatten your squad up with quality players. Then when you want to rotate, it doesn’t diminish the quality of your team.”

Odegaard, 22, has made nine appearances since signing, scoring one goal.

Buendia was linked with an Arsenal switch in January, though Football Insider revealed that no formal approach had been made by the midpoint of the window.
