Arsenal told to 'go for the jugular' after Bissouma source reveal - pundit
Arsenal should “go for the jugular” and move for Aston Villa target Yves Bissouma instead of Douglas Luiz this summer, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old Brighton midfielder is a “much better player” than the Brazillian.
This site revealed today (11 April) that Arsenal are lining up a new move for Aston Villa star Luiz after failing to land him in January.
Villa are willing to let the midfielder go to free up space for Steven Gerrard’s top midfield targets, with Bissouma high on the shortlist.
Both players are out of contract at their respective clubs at the end of next season.
Whelan urged Arsenal to gazump Gerrard’s side to sign the Mali international.

“I think Bissouma is a much better player,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s been more consistent, he’s got more energy than Douglas Luiz.
“Bissouma, for me, is one that I think Arsenal would love to have in their side.
“I think Arsenal would be better off going straight for the jugular and trying to beat Villa for Bissouma – because in my opinion, he offers a lot more.”
Luiz has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, including 25 starts in the Premier League.
Bissouma has played 21 times in the top flight this term.
Arsenal will be looking to bolster their midfield options with Mohamed Elneny expected to depart when his contract ends this summer.
