Arsenal fans believe the Premier League and officials are against them following a controversial post on X.

The Gunners suffered a frustrating 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage on 8 December.

Their goal came from a set piece, but they also had a goal disallowed. Fans and pundits alike were furious over Gabriel Martinelli’s mistimed run in the final moments of the game. Paul Merson even suggested the winger would “be on the end of one in the dressing room” from Mikel Arteta.

Earlier in the game, Adama Traore forcibly blocked goalscorer William Saliba off the pitch during a corner. This prevented him from making a run in the 6-yard box.

Despite officials making no decision on the pitch, the official Premier League account posted the incident on X, captioning it: "Adama Traore’s way of defending an Arsenal corner."

Arsenal could be on the receiving end of yet another referee blunder

Arsenal lead the Premier League in set-piece goals with 20 scored in 2024, matching their joint-most in a calendar year. This impressive feat highlights their growing dominance in this area.

The Gunners have now netted three consecutive corner kick goals, which has led some to draw comparisons to the infamous Stoke City team, with Dimitar Berbatov joining in on the talk on Amazon Prime Video.

However, former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA and Premier League referee Keith Hackett believes referees are "ignoring" what Mikel Arteta’s team is doing during corners.

This may explain why the officials failed to call the incident when William Saliba fell to the ground in the penalty box.

Some fans, however, questioned the decision to post the incident on the official Premier League account. One commented, “No wonder Arsenal fans think there’s a conspiracy,” while another asked if the PGMOL "have any credibility left."

In a lighter tone, some fans joked about the video, calling it "rugby highlights," and one even joked that there’s an "NFL contract incoming" for Adama Traore’s challenge.

These comments reflect the growing frustration among Arsenal supporters as referees have made certain games more challenging. They point to the red cards for 'time wasting' given to Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice, while no other players have received red cards for similar incidents.
