Arsenal could land extra £16m windfall as Champions League prize money revealed
Arsenal are in line to earn an extra £16million in prize money if they manage to reach the Champions League final.
Mikel Arteta’s side drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their semi-final clash at the Metropolitano Stadium last week.
Arsenal are now a victory away from reaching their first Champions League final since 2006, with the second leg taking place at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday (5 May).
The winner of the tie will take on either PSG or Bayern Munich at the Puskas Arena in Budapest later this month.
Arsenal have already earned significant prize money from the Champions League this season, but reaching the final would increase their total considerably.

In terms of how the numbers break down, each team will receive a guaranteed £16.1m for competing in the Champions League this season.
Meanwhile, Swiss Ramble reported Arsenal would earn £32m from Uefa’s value pillar system, which is split into European and non-European segments based on their coefficient ranking and the market pool.

Clubs were awarded £1.8m for each win in the league phase, meaning the Gunners banked £14.4m after securing victories in all eight fixtures.
They also received £9.5m for qualifying automatically for the round of 16 as well as £1.7m for finishing in the top eight.
The 36 clubs competing in the Champions League this season were handed an additional amount based on their individual ranking in the league phase, with Arsenal earning £8.6m after finishing top.
Progressing through the knock-out rounds to the semi-finals added an extra £24m to the Gunners’ total, ensuring their prize money currently stands at just over £106m.
That total will rise to around £122m if Arteta’s side can overcome Atletico Madrid to book their place in the final.

Alongside their Champions League aspirations, Arsenal currently top the Premier League table.
The Gunners have moved five points clear of Manchester City, who have a game in hand heading into the final weeks of the campaign.
If the north London giants can get their hands on both trophies, it would provide a huge boost to the financial situation at the Emirates.
Arsenal posted a new club-record revenue last season after their turnover surged from £616m in 2023-24 to £691m.
