Newcastle have odds slashed on agreeing Arsenal player deal
Newcastle could be about to sign Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri after a top UK bookmaker slashed their odds to be his next club.
Nwaneri's 2025-26 campaign did not go to plan from an individual standpoint as he struggled for game time at two different clubs.
The 19-year-old only made three starts for Arsenal in the first half of the campaign, leading Marseille to sign him on loan in the January window.
He scored on his debut for the Ligue 1 club, but only featured 10 more times for the rest of the season and sat on the bench for their final four league fixtures.
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Nwaneri this summer and could be about to accelerate talks with the Gunners this week.
Matthias Jaissle is believed to be after an attacking midfield signing to fit his new system on Tyneside.
Newcastle have odds slashed to 4/1 to sign Ethan Nwaneri
Nwaneri played a big part in Arsenal's pre-season campaign, but has failed to appear in either of their competitive fixtures in the last two weeks.
Reports surfaced last week that the Gunners were set to weigh up loan offers for his services instead of letting him leave the club permanently.
Sources exclusively revealed to Football Insider earlier in the summer that Newcastle were keen on signing Nwaneri to bolster their own midfield ranks.
Jaissle is ramping up plans to add a playmaker to his squad this week, and one of the UK's top bookmakers has slashed the Magpies' odds to sign Nwaneri to 4/1 in the last 24 hours.
Which other Premier League clubs could move for Nwaneri?
The 19-year-old may have struggled over the last 12 months, but has shone at the top level and may simply need more encouragement from a manager to fulfil his potential in the years to come.
Everton have also been linked to his signature this summer, while European giants AC Milan, Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are each also believed to be weighing up offers.
