Newcastle in three-way race for '£60m' Antonio Nusa deal 'as we speak'

Antonio Nusa has plenty of admirers in the Premier League and will certainly be a contender for a move within the next year.

That is according to experienced former Everton, Tottenham and Aston Villa scout and Norwegian football expert, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has been on the Premier League's radar for several years, coming close to signing for Brentford before ultimately joining RB Leipzig.

Nusa enjoyed a positive World Cup with Norway and was linked with a move this summer, but a bid never materialised.

But the winger has enjoyed a strong start to the new season and will be back on the market in the next two transfer windows, with a move thought to be likely.

Nusa is under contract at RB Leipzig until 2029, and will be expected to attract a significant fee if he can continue producing in the Bundesliga.

Antonio Nusa to 'cost between £50m and £60m'

Arsenal appear the primary contender for Nusa, considering Mikel Arteta's dearth of options on the left of the attack.

But Newcastle United and Villa have been linked in the past, while another Premier League giant could well challenge the Gunners.

"If I was a Premier League club, I'd certainly be looking at him. He's going to cost a lot more money than he went to Leipzig for. That's for sure," King told Football Insider.

"He's going to cost you, I would say, between £50m and £60m. He had a bit of a funny Nations League run. Played pretty well in two of the games and fell away in a couple of the others.

"But again, he's an exciting footballer. As a wide player, he's exciting to watch. He's got pace running with the ball. He can deliver. When he gets down the left-hand side and cuts inside, he's always looking to bend that shot in off the far post.

"He's an interesting player and I think Premier League clubs would certainly be looking at him. I think they are looking at him as we speak. For me, he's a player that can take the Premier League step."

Nusa would offer something different

There is plenty to be excited about when it comes to Nusa. The young Norwegian offers devastating pace and a fantastic ability to dribble.

In the Bundeliga this season, the winger has produced more successful dribbles than anyone and has won 26 duels.

The concerns were about his final product, but the 21-year-old is adding that as well, scoring two goals from 0.48 expected goals and providing two assists from seven chances created.

It remains to be seen if Nusa does end up in the Premier League, but he is certainly one of the most exciting young left-wingers on the market.
