Sources: Arsenal make Gabriel Martinelli decision after transfer setback

Arsenal remain keen to sell Gabriel Martinelli this summer despite missing out on the likes of Vinicius Junior and Morgan Rogers, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners have identified several targets to be their new first-choice left winger after Leandro Trossard left for Besiktas earlier in the window.

They were frontrunners to sign Rogers before he joined Chelsea, while an ambitious pursuit of megastar Vini Jr failed to get off the ground as he signed a new contract at Real Madrid.

Christos Tzolis' arrival from Club Brugge has already bolstered Mikel Arteta's depth in the position, leaving Martinelli likely to leave as they continue to chase a big-money signing.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Arsenal will continue to entertain offers for the Brazilian winger until the end of the window amid interest from several top European clubs.

Martinelli struggled to make an impact on Arsenal's title-winning season and is seen as one of their biggest sellable assets to raise funds for a new arrival.

Widespread reports from earlier this week claimed that Galatasaray had submitted a £38million bid for Martinelli, with Arsenal yet to respond.

He remains set to leave the Emirates if they receive a suitable offer, as Arteta eyes another left-wing addition to boost the Gunners' title defence.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I think obviously Arsenal are open to offers for Martinelli. That's been quite clear all summer. Arsenal have been trying to look for reinforcements on the left side of their attack, which is obviously where Martinelli plays.

“Obviously they tried very hard for Vinicius Junior, but just couldn't get that deal over the line. They were interested in Morgan Rogers as well, but missed out to Chelsea and him, which obviously raises question marks over Martinelli's long-term future.”

Arsenal will be forced to splash the cash to land Iliman Ndiaye

Everton star Ndiaye was linked to Al-Hilal earlier this summer, but he has decided against the move as he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for him as an alternative to their previous targets, with Man United also touted to make an approach.

Former Toffees scout Bryan King has exclusively told Football Insider that Everton could demand around £100m for Ndiaye this summer.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal are willing to stump up that much to land his signature.
