Supercomputer tips Premier League club to win the Champions League
Arsenal have been tipped by the supercomputer to finally end their wait for Champions League glory this season.
The Gunners are one of five Premier League sides hoping to topple PSG's grip on the famous trophy, with the group stage set to get underway this week.
The Premier League champions have opened the season in fine form and will travel to Massimiliano Allegri's Napoli for their opener.
Arsenal have been to the semi-final and the final of the Champions League in the last two seasons, with Mikel Arteta hoping that this season could see that barrier overcome.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Aston Villa are the other English teams in the competition, with varying degrees of difficulties in their fixtures.
Outside of the Premier League, the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan remain strong contenders to dethrone two-time winners PSG.
Supercomputer makes Arsenal favourites
It has been a strong 12 months for Arsenal, who finally ended their 22-year wait to lift the Premier League in May.
The Gunners also made it to just their second ever Champions League final, but ultimately lost to PSG on penalties.
It has been a summer of strengthening, however, with Christos Tzolis, Ezri Konsa and Bruno Guimaraes added to an already strong squad, although the need remains for another top winger.
Yet Arsenal have started the season with intent, and will be looking to carry their good form into their Champions League opener on Wednesday.
Opta's supercomputer has made them the favourites to lift the iconic trophy, with a 20.88 per cent chance of in success in Madrid next year.
Bayern are the second favourites, while PSG sit all the way down in seventh after a difficult start to the campaign.
Man City have been handed a 12.28 per cent chance, while Liverpool come in at 6.11 per cent, Man Utd at 3.82 per cent and Villa at 2.01 per cent.
Who has the toughest Champions League fixtures?
Arsenal arguably have been handed the toughest fixture list. Matches against Real Madrid, Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli are the standouts.
Man City also face Napoli, as well as holders PSG and Barcelona. For Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Inter are the big challenges.
Villa are also set to face PSG and Barcelona, with a clash against Dortmund also in their fixture list.
Bayern and Atleti are the big match ups for Man United, who also face Roma and RB Leipzig.
