Arsenal have been heavily linked with a stunning move for Juventus star Kenan Yildiz in recent days.

Reports have emerged that the Gunners are preparing an offer for the young attacking midfielder, who can also play up top and on the left wing.

This comes after Arsenal missed out on signing Vinicius Junior, who has now agreed a new long-term contract at Real Madrid.

However, despite Yildiz being a second-choice target, everything suggests that the 21-year-old could be a potential bargain.

When comparing the Turkey international’s stats to those of Gabriel Martinelli, many are better than the Arsenal winger’s.

The Brazil international has been linked with an exit from the Emirates this summer, and Mikel Arteta may have found the perfect upgrade.

What are Kenan Yildiz’s stats?

Yildiz has emerged as a top attacker in the Serie A after breaking into Juventus’ first team three seasons ago.

The Turkey international has got better year upon year, and picked up 16 goal contributions in 36 matches in the Italian top-flight alone last campaign.

As a result, many of his stats in the Serie A in the 2025-26 campaign are simply excellent.

Overall, according to Fotmob on 7 August, he averaged 0.32 goals, a 0.26 xG, 3.08 shots, 1.27 shots on target, 0.19 assists, a 0.31 xA, 2.41 chances created and 0.48 big chances created per 90 minutes.

On top of this, he can also help out defensively, winning 5.58 duels with a 50.6 success rate as well as winning 0.51 aerial duels with a 55.2 per cent success rate.

How does Yildiz’s stats compare to Gabriel Martinelli’s?

When comparing Yildiz’s stats to that of Martinelli’s last season in the Premier League, there is only one winner.

The Brazil international was inconsistent in front of goal in the Premier League and struggled to regularly create chances.

Overall, he averaged 0.08 goals, a 0.33 xG, 2.43 shots, 1.09 shots on target, 0.34 assists, a 0.11 xA, 1.09 chances created and 0.34 big chances created per 90 minutes.

On top of this, he was not great defensively, and only managed an average of 4.61 duels won with a 42.3 success rate, as well as 0.67 aerial duels won with a 30.8 per cent success rate.

Therefore, Arteta may have found the perfect replacement for Martinelli if he is able to get a deal over the line for Yildiz.
