Max Dowman's record-breaking goal against Everton may not be the most ideal moment for everyone at Arsenal.

The 16-year-old became the Premier League's youngest-ever goalscorer, beating the Toffees' James Vaughan's record from 2005, when he netted against Crystal Palace.

It is likely to be a defining moment in the Gunners' season, having helped the Gunners to secure an important three points before Man City's game against West Ham on Saturday, 14 March.

Arsenal's transfer plans are likely to take shape ahead of the summer window, and sadly for Martin Odegaard, it could have disastrous impacts on his future at the club.

Max Dowman completely steals the spotlight at Arsenal

Dowman has already emerged as an up-and-coming talent in North London, despite having just seven first-team appearances to his name, all of which have come this season.

While he has mainly been playing on the wing as a backup to Bukayo Saka, at least when he's been fit enough, he appears to have been more natural as a centre-midfielder for the Gunners' youth teams.

Given Odegaard's performances this season, the 27-year-old should certainly be looking over his shoulder.

The Norway international has been sidelined for quite a few games this season, and many had already raised questions over his future after the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

Martin Odegaard could face another hefty blow in North London

With supporters now crying out for Dowman to be given more minutes, and those cries getting even louder after his goal against Everton, it could be a rather sorry ending for the club captain.

Football Insider revealed in November that Arsenal would not move Odegaard on amid strong interest from Barcelona, but things could certainly change ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ethan Nwaneri is also yet to return from his loan spell at Marseille, adding yet another dynamic forward to the Gunners' squad, which could phase Odegaard out of the team even further.

Clubs from around Europe would be lining up for the captain's signature, and they might get a lot of joy, with his future thrown into doubt, thanks to Dowman, in North London.
