Aston Villa fans are insisting that the club should demand around £60million for star centre-back Ezri Konsa this summer.

Reports have emerged that Arsenal are preparing a bid for the 28-year-old centre-back before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Konsa has proven to be a highly important player at Villa Park in recent years and was critical to their Europa League victory last season.

Therefore, when news of Arsenal’s interest broke, Villa fans have demanded that the club ask for at least £60m for their star centre-back.

The defender has regularly featured in the 2026 World Cup with England this summer.

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a move for Morgan Rogers in recent months, despite Villa’s insistence that the winger is not for sale.

Arsenal and Aston Villa have ‘significant gap’ in Ezri Konsa’s valuation

Despite Konsa’s importance to Villa, the club are in an increasingly precarious spot regarding his future.

The centre-back now only has two years left on his deal going into the 2026-27 campaign.

As a result, Arsenal may see this as a key opportunity to make a move, with Tom Collomosse reporting that a bid is being prepared.

Nevertheless, Villa clearly still value the defender highly, and a contract extension has not been ruled out.

The gap between Villa’s and Arsenal’s valuation of the centre-back is said to be significant, and it is unknown how much the former currently values the defender at.

Nevertheless, the Villa Park faithful believe that around £60m should be demanded for Konsa if he is to leave this summer.

How good was Konsa last season?

Based on his stats in the Premier League last season, it is no wonder that Villa fans rate the centre-back so highly.

According to Fotmob on 17 July, Konsa was averaging 0.24 successful dribbles, winning 67.1 per cent of his duels, blocking 0.86 shots, winning 57.1 per cent of his aerial duels and keeping 0.24 clean sheets per 90 minutes.

Therefore, if Villa want to qualify for the Champions League once again this season, the defender remaining at the club could be critical to these hopes.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen where Konsa will be playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
