Sources: Arsenal are exploring a deal for player who could join on final days of January window
Arsenal and Aston Villa may have to wait until the final days of the January transfer window to sign RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, sources have told Football Insider.
The pair of Premier League giants are both keeping tabs on the 21-year-old at the moment, but Leipzig are under no pressure to sell him at the moment.
Nusa is under contract with the Bundesliga outfit until the summer of 2029, and they have also placed a lofty valuation of £60million on his head.
Sources say that Leipzig won't consider selling Nusa until they are out of the Champions League, which leaves minimal time for a move in January.
Arsenal and Aston Villa are both huge admirers of the Norway international, but will have to move quickly if they want to land him this winter.
Nusa starred for his country at the World Cup, and already has seven goal involvements from his opening seven games this term.
When will RB Leipzig open door to Antonio Nusa exit?
Nusa has quickly become a central part of Leipzig's project in the last 12 months, and he is key to their hopes once again this season.
The Red Bull-backed side are hoping to at least progress into the knockout stages of the Champions League, and are not prepared to sell him until they learn their fate in that department.
Martin Demichelis' outfit notched their first win in this year's competition with a 1-0 win over PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.
Both Arsenal and Villa are sure to be keeping a close eye on how they progress in the tournament, as Leipzig's final game of the league phase is set to take place on 27 January.
That clash against Feyenoord comes just six days before the end of the January transfer window, but could open the door for Nusa to move if Leipzig do not progress.
Mikel Arteta agrees '£50m' Arsenal release clause
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider on Monday that Mikel Arteta's new contract at Arsenal is likely to include a "£50million" release clause.
The Scottish businessman is adamant that the Gunners will have moved to "protect" their boss with a lofty exit clause.
Wyness feels that Barcelona are the likely candidates to prise Arteta away from the Emirates Stadium in the coming years, even if they have no immediate plans to do so.
The former midfielder came through the Catalans' famous La Masia academy, and still has plenty of admirers at the Camp Nou.
