Sources: Arsenal make Myles Lewis-Skelly transfer decision as new signing close

Arsenal have no intention of cashing in on young starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old has emerged as a target for Manchester United in recent weeks, but the Gunners will not entertain the idea of letting him leave.

The North London outfit are also adamant that they will not lose players to a direct rival like the Red Devils this summer.

Mikel Arteta views Lewis-Skelly as a key part of his project for 2026-27, after some impressive midfield performances at the end of last season.

Arsenal are not actively looking to sell the youngster as a result, especially with Christian Norgaard on the verge of joining Everton.

Lewis-Skelly had to bide his time to get opportunities last season, but his versatility eventually saw him come to the fore.

Arsenal agree fee for Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal have been chasing Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in recent weeks, and they now appear to have finally got their man.

A £75million fee has now been agreed between the two parties, with the North East outfit granting permission for the player to travel to London for a medical.

The arrival of another midfielder at the Emirates Stadium created the need for an exit, and it has been speculated of late that Lewis-Skelly could be a candidate, after he was linked away back in January.

However, Norgaard is now set to become the fall guy to make way for Guimaraes, with Arsenal preferring to keep Lewis-Skelly.

Arteta and Co. still have extremely high hopes for the England international long-term, and he still made 36 appearances in all competitions, despite enduring a challenging year last time out.

Arsenal are adamant that they do not want to lose their academy graduate any time soon, let alone to another top Premier League club.

Axel Donczew passes Arsenal medical

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider earlier this week that Arsenal are likely to have paid around £500,000 to sign Cardiff City starlet Axel Donczew.

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder has already passed a medical to join the Gunners, with only official confirmation remaining to seal his move.

Wyness believes that Arsenal will have paid a straight fee rather than going to tribunal over compensation, with the addition of future bonuses for Cardiff.

Donczew is tipped to have a huge future ahead of him, and became the Bluebirds' youngest ever player when he debuted as a 15-year-old last season.
