Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres will give “serious thought” to a potential move to leave next summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The frontman is understood to be “frustrated” with his lack of game time so far this season, as he has fallen behind Kai Havertz in the attacking pecking order.

The Gunners will not allow the 28-year-old out the door during the upcoming January window, with Mikel Arteta lacking the necessary time to secure the replacement he would desire.

Sources say that Gyokeres will “consider his options” at the end of the season, if his level of involvement doesn’t improve between now and then.

The former Sporting CP man is desperate to play regular football at this stage of his career, but is showing little sign of dislodging Havertz at the moment.

The £55million man netted 21 goals from 55 games for the Gunners in all competitions last term, but has played just 80 minutes of Premier League football so far in 2026-27.

Viktor Gyokeres not convincing Mikel Arteta

Gyokeres’ form at Arsenal came under scrutiny at times last term, with his consistency questioned on several occasions.

Arteta opted to start him in both legs of the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid, but then reverted back to Havertz for the final against PSG.

That preference for the German has continued into this season, with Gyokeres still waiting for his first start in league action.

The Sweden international has started in each of the opening two Champions League games, but is not doing enough in Arteta’s eyes to warrant any more football than that right now.

However, with Gyokeres no longer a young player, he is at the stage where he will consider his next move carefully.

Staying at Arsenal will allow him to compete for trophies on all fronts, but if he remains the second choice to lead the line, then it could push him towards the exit door.

'His time is running out' - Eberechi Eze could already be finished at Arsenal as expert shares 'harsh truth'

Eberechi Eze ‘running out of time’ at Arsenal

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze is “running out of time” to save his future at Arsenal.

The England international earned his first Premier League start of the season last weekend, but was withdrawn at half-time during the win over Nottingham Forest.

Brown believes that Eze has been “nowhere near good enough” since his move from Crystal Palace back in 2025, and feels that Arsenal still aren’t sure how to get the best out of him.

Both Eze and Gyokeres are struggling to make an impact at the moment, and could easily find themselves heading elsewhere within the next 12 months.
