Confirmed: Aston Villa senior player undergoes operation, misses rest of season
By Danny Wright
Controversial striker Ross McCormack will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to remove five cysts from his mouth two weeks ago.
The Daily Mail shows the pictures of the Aston Villa player’s swollen face after the medical procedure in Glasgow.
The 30-year-old, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, is also awaiting an injection in his Achilles heel in the coming days to cap what has been a wretched campaign.
McCormack was shipped out to Forest after he failed to turn up to a Villa training session in January.
He has not attended training for Mark Warburton’s side in the last three weeks and now admits that his campaign is over.

“It’s been a freakish couple of weeks in what has been an abnormal season for me,” said McCormack to the Daily Mail.
“Forest have been good with me. I wanted to help them but the doctors have advised that I avoid contact in training and rest up.
“I’m not used to seasons where I don’t play a lot of games and get my goals. I desperately want to get back to that. Obviously, the move to Villa didn’t start as planned but hopefully I can get myself sorted and come back in the summer nice and fresh.”
McCormack, 30, has only made seven appearances since joining Nottingham Forest in January.
He scored on his Reds debut against Norwich but has not found the net since.
The ex-Fulham striker has not featured in Warburton’s squad since the 2-2 draw with Derby last month with many thinking he had fell afoul of yet another manager. However it is now clear that this latest surgery has been the reason for his absence.
McCormack arrived at Villa Park last summer for £12.5million in a huge overhaul of the squad following their Premier League relegation.
He scored four league goals for the West Midlands outfit before claiming a faulty electric gate at home stopped him from attending training.
