Aston Villa could get rid of senior duo after what Phillips saw on Tuesday
Keinan Davis and Wesley Moraes may be forced out of Aston Villa.
That is the view of former Claret and Blue striker Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “progression and form” of Cameron Archer.
The 19-year-old scored a hat-trick on Tuesday as Villa’s Under-21s beat Burton Albion 4-2 in the EFL Trophy.
The teenage striker has burst onto the scene this season, scoring four goals in two League Cup appearances.
He has also appeared from the bench in Villa’s last two Premier League fixtures.
Phillips believes Archer is now the third choice striker at the club.

“Looking at Archer’s progression and form, you would have to say Davis and Wesley might have to leave if they want to play football,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs. “That is football though.
“That is what you want. You want your young players to step up and Archer has done that. He has taken his chance with both hands.
“These young kids are full of confidence these days. It is great to see. Archer is a confident player who believes in his own ability.
“In my opinion, he has leapfrogged David and Wesley. I’d have him third behind [Ollie] Watkins and [Danny] Ings.
“If you do not keep progressing and performing, someone will take your place. That has certainly been the case with these players.”
Wesley is currently on loan at Club Brugge, while Davis has not featured this season because of injury.
Both players have three years remaining on their contract at Villa Park.
