Aston Villa have rejected offers for starlet Jacob Ramsey and put the block on him leaving in this window, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
Multiple Championship clubs have bid to take the 19-year-old on a season-long loan from Villa Park.
But Villa boss Dean Smith has told Ramsey he is staying beyond deadline day, a club source has told Football Insider.
The Midlands giants rate Ramsey highly and, as first revealed by this site, handed him a new three-and-a-half year contract in January of this year.
He then went out on loan to Doncaster Rovers, where he made a strong impression before the lockdown in March.
Ramsey, who has an excellent record as a goalscoring midfielder, netted three times in just seven matches for the League One out.
The England Under-20 international is regarded as a potential star Villa, where he has graduated from the youth ranks.
He can play in centre midfield or in attacking areas and is regarded as capable of establishing himself in their first team in the future.
The teenager made his senior debut in 2018-19 for Villa and has seven appearances for the club under his belt.
He has played four times this season, starting all three of the club’s League Cup matches and also coming off the bench in their Premier League win over Fulham.
Ramsey won Villa’s Academy Player of the Season in 2018-19 and was a stand-out performer for the club’s Under-23s in Premier League 2.
In other Aston Villa news, the board are tipped to back Smith to the hilt in stunning late transfer raid.
