Aston Villa could make two changes to their starting XI when they take on Bristol City in a Championship clash on Tuesday night.
Steve Bruce’s side recorded a much-needed 1-0 win against Derby on Saturday afternoon to take the pressure off the under-fire boss.
Now, the suspended Leandro Bacuna will miss out, while 32-year-old Alan Hutton could also be dropped as Bruce looks to freshen his team up as the fixtures pile up.
As a result, midfielder Conor Hourihane, who missed the win against Derby because of a dead leg, could return, alongside right-back James Bree.
Striker Jonathan Kojdia, who produced a poor display against the Rams is likely to keep his place in the side as he is the only recognised and available forward at the club.
In the wide areas, the ever-improving Andre Green might start his second consecutive game, with Albert Adomah possibly occupying the other wing.
They could be accompanied by three midfielders in Henri Lansbury, Hourihane, and the ever reliable Mile Jedinak, who might slot in front of the back four.
The centre-back duo of James Chester and Nathan Baker, who were pivotal to the team securing a clean sheet against the Rams, might continue at the back against Lee Johnson’s men.
At full back, to bring more energy and attacking threat, Bree could replace Hutton at right-back as Neil Taylor might also start his second consecutive game for the club.
