Jordan Amavi played 78 minutes of 10-man Aston Villa’s 3-1 defeat to Fulham on Monday – and fans took to Twitter to criticise his performance.
The Midlands side fell behind to an early goal from 16-year-old wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon and suffered another blow as Jonathan Kodija was sent off after just 22 minutes.
Despite Jack Grealish’s strike early in the second half, Villa were unable to prevent defeat as Sone Aluko and Neeskens Kebano struck to sink the visitors.
The result leaves Villa in 12th place in their first season in the Championship since relegation, while Fulham pushed themselves into a play-off spot.
A number of Aston Villa players were slated by fans on Twitter during and after the match, none more so than left back Jordan Amavi.
The French defender had a game to forget as he was caught out time and again by the Fulham wingers, and was at fault for the cross which led to the goal.
He appeared a long way off the £25m-rated-player he was supposed to be in December.
It is fair to say the verdict from fans on Amavi was unanimous after a disappointing display.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Does Amavi know how the game of football is played? Worst player on the pitch #avfc

Amavi seems to have lost any confidence in going forward. Absolutely no confidence.

Amavi isn't even worth £2.50 at the minute. What has happened to him!

The fans will be hoping for brighter performances from Amavi in their next few fixtures, as Aston Villa look to push themselves up the table in this final stretch of the season.
In other Aston Villa news, the club find themselves in a four-way tussle for a £4m-rated midfielder.
