Aston Villa supporters have not had much to cheer about in recent times, but they were overjoyed on Wednesday when the popular Jordan Amavi hinted he wants to stay at the club.
Amavi suggested with a positive Twitter image of him in action last season that his thoughts are concentrated solely on his club as he prepares for pre-season with the Championship club.
It was accompanied by his squad number ’23’ and the hashtags ‘Villa Park’ and ‘amazing’.
This comes after French outlet L’Equipe previously reported that Liverpool were considering a £10.8million swoop for the highly-rated youngster.
Left-back Amavi is a popular figure among Villa supporters as a result of his fine performances at the start of the 2015-16 Premier League season before a serious knee injury cut his season short last November.

Manager Roberto Di Matteo will be hoping Amavi chooses to stay at Villa Park as he looks to mount a challenge and gain instant promotion to the Premier League with the former European champions..
The Villa Park faithful on Twitter were confident that would be the case after the player’s tweet. Here are some of their reactions on Twitter:
@JordanAmavi I predict Jordan has been impressed by RDM and wants to stay at Villa, which he will confirm by liking this tweet 😉 #avfc
