Aston Villa confirmed on Sunday that Leandro Bacuna had completed his switch to Championship rivals Reading – and most fans on Twitter were glad to see the back of him.
The Villains announced via their official Twitter account that the 25-year-old winger had left Villa Park for the Royals on a permanent basis, which prompted a strong reaction from the supporters.

Reading confirmed of their official website that the former Groningen player had agreed terms to a four-year deal at the Madejski Stadium and coincidentally could be available to make his debut against Aston Villa as soon as Tuesday night subject to clearance.
Bacuna moved to Villa Park in 2013 after rising through the ranks of Groningen’s academy in the Netherlands.
The 13-times Curacao international had only featured in one of Villa’s opening three fixtures of the new season having been left out of the match day squad for the visits to Colchester and Cardiff.
In his four years in the West Midlands, Bacuna made a total of 131 appearances and scored eight goals in the process.
Although he become a usual feature in the Aston Villa squad, most supporters have since shown that they are glad to see the back of him after what has been seen as a major downturn in form in recent months as well as his previous comments about wanting to join a team in the Champions League.
One fan even said it was the “best birthday present” he has ever had.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Glad to see him go, but won't gloat too much. This is essentially a story about a player joining a better team. As Tuesday will show. #avfc

Good riddance! I bet Bacuna will flourish now as every other player does after leaving Villa.
