Steve Bruce named his starting XI for the first of a potentially lucrative, hopefully three-match run for Aston Villa as they embark on their play-off adventures, but fans were in two minds about Mile Jedinak starting.
Some fans were unhappy to see him lining up for Villa, with one fan saying he would have been his third choice in defensive midfield.
However, other fans were quick to point out that against Middlesbrough and Tony Pulis’ likely tactics, they would need Jedinak’s height.
The team news was announced on the official Aston Villa Twitter page ahead of the 5.15pm kick-off:

Aston Villa missed out on automatic promotion, finishing fourth and seven points behind Cardiff.
Their opponents in the semi-finals, Middlesbrough, finished one point and a further seven points behind Villa, and Bruce’s side are the favourites to qualify for the final.
Here are the best reactions to Jedinak from Aston Villa fans desperate to see their side break back into the Premier League:
Jedinak would have been my third choice for defensive mid.
