Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to speculation club will move for £10m-rated midfielder

By Will Butcher

Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter in positive fashion after learning their club are reportedly interested in a move for Robbie Brady.

The 24-year-old has been rumoured to be interesting plenty of clubs since Norwich’s relegation last season.

The Sun claim that Steve Bruce’s side are ready to splash the cash on the Republic of Ireland international as Norwich value their set-piece specialist at £10million.

Able to play at both left-back and on the left side of midfield, the Manchester United trainee could be brought in to add width to Bruce’s squad with Albert Adomah considered as Villa’s only natural winger.

Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter with delight, with some highlighting the fact that Brady would be a good signing as he knows Bruce well from his time at Hull City.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

With just over 18 months remaining on his Carrow Road deal, manager Alex Neil could look to cash in on his versatile left footer rather than risk losing him on a free.

Bruce’s side are looking to gain an instant return to the Premier League and are just four points off a play-off position despite being placed 13th in table.

With 79 appearances in the top flight, there is a sense among fans that Brady could be a top signing for Villa.

In other Aston Villa transfer news, this goalkeeper could be on his way to Villa Park.
