Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Micah Richards display v Wolves
By Harvey Byrne
Micah Richards made his return to the Aston Villa line-up on Saturday against Wolves – but fans on Twitter were left disappointed with the experienced defender’s performance.
Richards, 28, started the match at right-back for Villa in his first appearance for the club since mid-September, marking just his third appearance for the side in the new campaign in all competitions.
He played 66 minutes before being brought off for Alan Hutton in the 1-1 draw, with striker Jonathan Kodjia bagging a penalty before Helder Costa also scored a penalty.
Aston Villa fans were left disappointed with the performance of Richards on social media, with many pointing out his mistakes during the match.

Micah Richards looks overweight. His lack of talent is also a worry. #AVFC

That second half was dire, we hardly got out of our half. Surely Bruce must see Richards isn't good enough. Our best player Adomah #avfc

The full-back moved to Aston Villa last summer after his contract at cash rich Manchester City expired.
The clash against Wolves marked Steve Bruce’s first game in charge of the Midlands outfit after Roberto di Matteo was sacked when the club suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Preston.
Villa are currently placed in 20th with just one win in the Championship this season, with 11 points from 12 fixtures.
They will travel to Jaap Stam’s Reading team on Tuesday, who will provide a tough challenge sat in seventh place.
In other Aston Villa team news, Dion Dublin has claimed all the pressure is on this senior figure at the club.
