Neil Taylor was sent off for Wales after a horror tackle on Seamus Coleman – and Aston Villa fans on Twitter have wished the Everton player a speedy recovery.

Left-back Taylor was shown a straight red by the referee after he lunged in on Coleman during Wales’ 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland on Friday night.

The two teams were taking part in an important World Cup qualifier at the Aviva stadium when Taylor’s badly timed tackled seriously injured Coleman who had to be taken off on a stretcher.

Coleman received treatment on the field of play and was given oxygen as he appeared to suffer a serious leg injury with TV producers opting not to show the tackle.

Certain sections of the Villa support slammed their player for the tackle, while others stated that he is not that type of player.

Villa fans couldn’t believe the tackle Taylor had made as they wished Coleman a speedy recovery.

Right-back Coleman has been a key part of Everton’s successful campaign this season and his injury will be a big blow to his manager Ronald Koeman.

It is not yet known how long Coleman will be on the sidelines for but supporters have wished that his recovery is successful.
