Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Gardner display against Fulham
By Russell Edge
Aston Villa fans were less than happy with what they saw from central midfielder Gary Gardner in their 3-1 defeat away to Fulham – and took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
The 24-year-old, a product of the Aston Villa youth academy, was one of three central midfielders chosen to start by Steve Bruce in a 3-5-2 formation, but struggled against the three midfielders of Fulham.

Gardner’s only real impact of the game was conceding the free-kick which led to Fulham’s opener and he and his manager will be disappointed with his performance.
Villa fans made sure to voice their opinion of the midfielder’s display on social media and it was almost universally negative.

Gary Gardner still surprises me with how cack he can be. Dawdling on the ball, can't make a pass and no movement #avfc

Gardner has reestablished himself in the starting XI after finding himself on the bench for a number of games between January and February.
In total, Gardner has made 24 appearances for Aston Villa this season, contributing two assists and a solitary goal.
Villa’s next game is the second city derby against local rivals Birmingham City, and fans will be hoping for a better performance from Gardner and the rest of their side.
