Aston Villa may finally be ready to sell goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez if they receive a “big offer” for him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Inter Milan are closely tracking the 33-year-old ahead of the summer, and he is being viewed as a prime candidate to be sold to alleviate financial issues at Villa Park.

Martinez is expected to attract interest from a whole host of top European clubs this summer, and sources have indicated that Unai Emery and Co. are beginning to see value in potentially freeing up his huge wages.

Inter are the leading candidates to secure his services at the moment, but there are a number of clubs who are ready to pounce if the Villans make it clear that he is up for sale.

Villa’s transfer plans are set to be heavily dictated by their PSR standing yet again, and a sale of Martinez could make valuable money available to be spent elsewhere.

Football Insider revealed last week that Inter are expected to make an offer for Martinez this summer, as they see him as an achievable target for their window.

The Italian giants have been long-term admirers of the Argentine World Cup winner, but they have never truly committed to making a move for him, although that could be about to change this time around.

The San Siro outfit are on the hunt for a new first-choice shot-stopper, with Yann Sommer set to leave upon the expiry of his contract, and Martinez is seen as the ideal replacement.

Tottenham gloveman Guglielmo Vicario is also on their radar for a possible deal, but the Villa star is seen as a world-class option who would elevate their team.

Inter’s interest has been growing stronger in recent weeks, and Villa now look set to be faced with another difficult decision as to whether they give in and sanction a sale.

Former Villa chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that he is expecting PSG to make a big bid for Morgan Rogers this summer, as another transfer saga could be set to reach its conclusion.

Like Martinez, the England international has been linked with a move elsewhere almost constantly in the last few years, and clubs across Europe have now got the attacker on their radar.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for Rogers in recent weeks, and Villa may find it hard to refuse if a true superclub comes in with a lucrative offer.

They are still facing financial difficulties heading into the summer, but the club hierarchy will know that it may only take one major sale to put that all to one side.
