Aston Villa know exactly what to do with Morgan Rogers interest as new development to inform fee
Aston Villa look as if they will be forced to field offers for Morgan Rogers this summer as reports of interest begin to mount.
The summer transfer window does not open until the middle of June, yet the midfielder is already the subject of multiple links to the likes of Arsenal and PSG.
The Gunners, especially, look to be ready to break the bank for the 23-year-old this summer as they eye a bid to retain their Premier League title.
Rogers signed a new contract in November and is under contract until 2031, but there appears to be a reluctant admission at Villa Park that a sale could be beneficial.
Villa transfer chiefs will be given more freedom this summer with Unai Emery’s team having qualified for the Champions League, but some financial restrictions remain in place.

Former chief Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider last month that Villa could be temped into selling Rogers this summer, if they receive a bid too attractive to turn down.
It cost the Villans a deal worth up to just £15million to sign the winger from Middlesbrough in 2024, and his rise since then has been astronomic.
| Morgan Rogers | Stats – Premier League 2025-26 |
| Appearances | 37 |
| Goals | 10 |
| Assists | 6 |
| Chances created | 47 |
| Successful dribbles | 42 |
| Fouls won | 49 |
| Duels won | 158 |
Under the guidance of Unai Emery, the England international has gone from strength to strength and is expected to play a key role at this summer’s World Cup.
Villa will be well aware that a strong tournament will only intensify the interest in Rogers, but luckily, they already have a benchmark to work from.
Newcastle United have agreed a fee worth around £69million to sell Anthony Gordon to Barcelona this summer – a fee that will raise eyebrows at Villa Park.

Gordon is two years older than Rogers and has not come close to matching the Villa man’s output over the last two seasons. Should his sale set the standard, a price point starting around £90m would seem appropriate.
Gordon and Rogers compared
Gordon and Rogers will both go to the World Cup and they could well end up playing together, depending on Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
But on the left wing, there has been a clear winner between the two this season. Villa have clearly enjoyed a far better season than Newcastle, but their individual contributions are telling.
In the Premier League, Rogers has scored more goals, provided more assists and has missed less big chances than Gordon.

The Villa man has played far more this season, and the Newcastle winger does surpass him in some stats on a per-90 basis. He has more shots per game (1.84 to 1.59) and more successful dribbles (1.64 to 1.15), but his numbers for goals and expected goals are skewed by his three penalties.
On a defensive basis, there is no comparison. Per 90, Rogers has more blocks, clearances, interceptions and possession won in the final third than Gordon, with their tackle numbers almost exactly the same.
Villa will retain hope of keeping the 23-year-old at Villa Park this summer, but they will be aware of the huge fee they are entitled to ask for, as well.
