Aston Villa line up early summer exits to make way for Matias Soule signing
Aston Villa are prepared to cash in on several of their loan stars in order to make way for a move for Roma midfielder Matias Soule this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Villans are big admirers of the 23-year-old Argentine and are ready to battle the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bournemouth for his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
They are planning to sell some of their fringe players currently out on loan to open the door for them to complete that swoop, and sources say that Villa are hopeful of netting fees for both Donyell Malen and Evann Guessand.
The sales of that duo in the duo before the end of June are likely to open up further breathing room for Unai Emery’s side in terms of their PSR standing, which would in turn allow them to make a move for Soule.
Aston Villa are keen to strengthen their hand across the board in the coming months, as they prepare for their likely return to Champions League football next term.

Soule has been linked with a move to the Premier League consistently in recent years, with the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle heavily linked with him last summer.
However, those links never materialised for the attacking midfielder on that occasion, and he has responded by notching career-best numbers in Serie A this term.
| Stats | Soule Totals |
| Apps (Starts) | 31 (27) |
| G/A | 11 |
| Chances Created per 90 | 1.82 |
| Successful Dribbles per 90 | 1.43 |
| Shots on Target per 90 | 0.65 |
| Duels Won per 90 | 4.28 |
The former Juventus man has helped himself to seven goals and seven assists in all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, as his efforts have been a driving factor behind their push to secure Champions League qualification.
Soule’s performances in the Italian capital have earned him plenty of admirers across Europe, as switches to either the Bundesliga or the Premier League appear strong possibilities at the moment.
Aston Villa are clear admirers of the quality that he provides, and Emery is keen to have him as part of his group for 2026-27 and beyond.
Villa on the verge of welcome £50m boost
Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider earlier this week that Aston Villa could be set to earn an additional £50million in prize money due to their performances this season.
The football finance expert suggested that victory against Freiburg in the Europa League final could see them stand to earn £40m once matchday revenue is also included.
Borson then added that finishing fourth in the Premier League would likely provide a £10m boost compared to last year’s prize money, meaning the club are potentially just weeks away from a welcome boost to their coffers.
That will provide them with vital leeway in the transfer market, as the recruitment team look to support Emery to ensure he has the tools to compete on all fronts once again next term.
