Aston Villa midfielder posts Instagram message after making January switch

By Amir Mir

Aaron Tshibola has thanked everyone for their support after he made a January transfer switch from Aston Villa to Nottingham Forest.

The club confirmed on its official website on Monday that the 22-year-old has made a season-long loan switch to the City Ground.

Midfielder Tshibola joined Villa during the summer when Italian Roberto Di Matteo was in charge of the club and he now leaves six months later.

Di Matteo signed the highly-rated youngster from Championship rivals Reading for a fee of £5.5million, but since Steve Bruce’s arrival in mid-October, he has seen his game time reduced.

Under the promotion expert, he has made only four appearances, the first against Wolves in October, then against Cardiff, followed by Tottenham in the FA Cup and finally Wolves during the reverse fixture.

After his move, this is what Tshibola had to say to supporters of both Villa and Forest as posted on his personal Instagram account.

During his brief spell at Villa, Tshibola scored one goal for the club and that came against Newcastle on home soil.

Since then, Bruce’s side have added five new additions during the January transfer window, which includes three midfielders.

This meant that his game time at the club would be reduced even further with the likes of Henri Lansbury, Mile Jedinak, Ashley Westwood, Birki Bjarnason, Conor Hourihane and Gary Gardner all fighting for a first-team spot.

In other Aston Villa transfer news, the club’s pursuit of this striker takes another twist after £9million offer made.
