Aston Villa are willing to listen to offers for defender Diego Carlos this summer, sources have told Football Insider

Villa need to complete multiple sales over the coming weeks due to their profit and sustainability (PSR) issues, with at least one mega deal on the cards before 30th June.

Football Insider revealed on 12 June star midfielder Douglas Luiz, 26, is in talks to join Juventus as part of a complex swap deal, while forward Jhon Duran, 20, is in discussions over a move to Chelsea.

Carlos, 31, is another first-team starter who could leave Villa Park this summer to help balance the books despite featuring heavily last season.

The Brazilian centre-back is under contract until 2026.

Diego Carlos could be one several Aston Villa exits

Carlos’s time with Villa has been relatively mixed after he missed the majority of his first season at the club following his £26million move from Sevilla in 2022.

The defender bounced back to feature 38 times in all competitions last season, starting in 28 of those games as Unai Emery’s side qualified for the Champions League.

But the Brazilian could leave Villa Park this summer as the West Midlands giants will consider offers for his services.

Villa are believed to be close to the PSR limit after announcing losses of £119million in their latest 2022-23 accounts.
