Aston Villa are on the verge of sealing their 11th signing of a remarkable window after Marvelous Nakamba agreed personal terms with the club, Football Insider has learned.

Dean Smith’s side are posed to take their summer spending past the £125million mark after agreeing a fee of £11million for the 25-year-old Zimbabwe international.

A Villa source has told Football Insider that Nakamba is set to undergo a medical after agreeing a £55,000-a-week contract and a multi-million pound signing-on fee.

Villa, who are preparing for their first season back in the Premier League for three years, will not be able to complete the transfer until Nakamba has secured a work permit but the club are confident of doing so.

It will bring an end to the Midlands giants’ pursuit of the midfield anchorman, who is set to become the club’s second signing of the summer from Brugge.
