Snapped: Aston Villa star man delivers major boost after picture reveal

Aston Villa captain John Terry has revealed via a picture that he is back in training after his recent injury layoff.

The former Chelsea man posted a snap on his personal Instagram account on Thursday showing him taking part in a solo drill at Villa’s training ground, quoting the picture with the words: “First day back in the boots today. Good session with the ball and a few runs”

The 37-year-old has been ruled out of action since limping out of the club’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday after just 20 minutes in November, and has missed Villa’s last five matches, in which the Villans have gone unbeaten.

His return will be a major boost to manager Steve Bruce, who will be looking for his experience in the back line as the club try to nail down at least a play off spot this season.

Having arrived on a free transfer after his Chelsea contract expired, Terry has gone on to make 16 appearances for the Birmingham based club, netting his first goal in the 2-1 win at home to Fulham.

Currently sitting in fifth, Villa travel to Derby County on Saturday, with the Rams sitting just one place and one point above Bruce’s side.
