Aston Villa tipped to bench summer signing v Tottenham after pictures emerge - pundit
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith will name Axel Tuanzebe on the bench for Sunday’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the selection dilemma facing Dean Smith this weekend.
Tuanzebe was ineligible to play against his parent club Manchester United last Saturday but is in contention to return on Sunday.
Kortney Hause replaced him in the starting XI and shone, scoring the only goal of the game after 88 minutes.
The centre-half was pictured in good spirits at Villa Park on Wednesday as the Claret and Blue prepare to travel to an out-of-form Spurs on Sunday.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if he expected Tuanzebe to regain his place in the side, Campbell said: “It’s a big call.

“What a great problem for Dean Smith to have though.
“I think it would be very difficult for him to drop Hause after he scored the winner against United. For that reason I think Hause will start ahead of Tuanzebe. I really think he will be the one who gets the nod with Mings and Konsa.
“He was so determined to get on the end of that corner and it was a terrific header. [David] de Gea had no chance. He defended really well as well.
“As a unit, Villa player brilliantly against United and Hause was one of the star players. I think Smith will go with an unchanged side if he can. How can you drop anyone from a side that just beat Man United at Old Trafford?”
