Aston Villa are set to land "way more" than the initial £64million fee for Al-Nassr to sign Jhon Duran, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that the deal is expected to rise significantly with bonuses given the "huge money" available to clubs in Saudi Arabia.

The fee has been described as "too good to turn down" both for Villa and Duran, and he is set to officially become an Al-Nassr player in the coming days.

According to the Mail, the striker underwent a medical in London ahead of his move to the Saudi Pro League outfit where he will link up with Cristiano Ronaldo.

He had grown frustrated with a lack of first-team playing time under Unai Emery and had also attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, PSG and West Ham.

Duran's attitude had been a concern behind the scenes at Villa Park despite him having signed a new contract in October, and many felt his departure was a matter of time.

However, a January transfer was thought unlikely after Emery admitted: "I want him here with us," following their 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The money involved in the Saudi Arabian outfit's bid eventually proved too much to ignore.

Now, Villa are considering potential replacements for the Colombian in the closing stages of the window after receiving an influx of money to spend.

Meanwhile, Villa have also been linked with moves for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel and PSG's Marco Asensio in the closing stages of the window.
