Aston Villa should be looking to get a deal done for Newcastle United forward Will Osula at all costs this summer.

The second city outfit have emerged as a strong suitor for the 22-year-old in the upcoming window, after a dazzling run of form that has seen him net five Premier League goals since 12 April.

The Dane has become the Magpies’ starting striker in recent weeks, and he has used his chance in the limelight to great effect, with a number of clubs now prepared to offer him a move this summer.

Everton are also showing a keen interest in Osula, who came within a whisker of leaving Newcastle to join Eintracht Frankfurt back in January.

Aston Villa want new attacking additions to their squad after securing their qualification for the Champions League, and the stats show that they should be doing everything they can to get Osula.

Will Osula stronger than Ollie Watkins in key areas

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that it will be “very difficult” for Aston Villa to sign Osula this summer, with Newcastle keen to keep him after he has impressed Eddie Howe in recent weeks.

However, the lure of Champions League football could prove decisive in Villa’s chase for a deal, as Osula will surely want to play at the highest possible level.

The youngster has been in fine form of late, and his stats suggest that he would have netted far more goals had he been given a chance to shine by Howe earlier in the year.

His tally of seven strikes has come from just seven starts, while his goals per 90 total and his conversion rate are far superior to those of Ollie Watkins this season.

Osula has also spurned less big chances per 90 than the Villa frontman, which surely makes it a no-brainer for Villa to try their hardest to secure his services.

He is a hugely talented young player, and he will only continue to get better as he gains further exposure to the Premier League.

Do Aston Villa have the finances to tempt Newcastle into sale?

Aston Villa’s Europa League success has seen them earn almost £40million in prize money after going the whole way in Europe’s second strongest club competition.

Unai Emery’s men sealed glory with a commanding 3-0 win over Freiburg in Istanbul on Wednesday, to complete a run that has provided their coffers with a major boost heading into the summer.

The £40m that they have earned from the Europa League will skyrocket when they return to the league phase of the Champions League next term, and that should give them room to spend in the market this summer.

With that in mind, Villa are surely capable of tabling an offer that could tempt Newcastle into a sale, especially since they are eyeing up a rebuild of their own ahead of 2026-27.

Osula won’t come cheaply after his impressive run of late, but all the evidence is there that he would be an excellent addition to Emery’s squad.
