Alejandro Garnacho is 'destined' to leave Aston Villa after what ex-scout has seen

Alejandro Garnacho is bound to leave Aston Villa for a team outside of the Premier League after hitting a rut in England.

That is the opinion of former senior Villa scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.

The 22-year-old arrived at Villa Park from Chelsea this summer, signing on loan with a conditional obligation to buy next summer for around £42million.

But after just two months, Garnacho is already on the outskirts at Villa and has not even made it off the bench in any of the previous four games across all competitions.

Unai Emery has admitted that the winger has fallen down the pecking order, and the Spaniard's stubbornness when it comes to selection has been proven time and time again.

Harvey Elliot signed from Liverpool last summer in similar circumstances and would go on to make just nine appearances for Villa before returning to Anfield.

Alejandro Garnacho's attitude is 'all wrong'

Garnacho was incredibly exciting when he broke through at Man United, and he remains a talented player.

But the internal issues that emerged at Old Trafford seemed to bring an end to his Chelsea career too, and could yet end his time at Villa.

"For me, he's a player who's been in England. He's been all right in flurries, but he hasn't been consistently brilliant," King told Football Insider.

"I think he's a player who's destined for France or Italy or Spain or even South America. I just think his attitude is all wrong. He's a player who never looks as though he's enjoying football and he should be bursting with it. 

"Can you imagine the money he's on? He should be playing for nothing. Look at the goal he scored against Everton. Remember when he hit that volley? World class, but he's never been consistent."

Garnacho takes first step to saving Villa future

History would suggest that Garnacho is already fighting a losing battle to convince Emery of his future at Villa.

The winger took a positive first step last week, however, when he scored the only goal in a friendly win over Southampton.

That may well have impressed Emery, but he will need to do far more in training if he is to become a key part of the Villa team.

Garnacho must act quickly, however, for Emery's mind is incredibly hard to change once it is made up.
