Aston Villa could have all eyes on Tijjani Reijnders' Manchester City future as Unai Emery attempts to make some last-minute signings.

The Villans proved that, despite losing Morgan Rogers and Lucas Digne, they can still hold their own against one of the world's best, PSG.

However, Emery is currently working with quite a small squad, having only signed an injured Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Alejandro Garnacho.

Before the window closes, the likes of Ollie Watkins and Evann Guessand could still leave, which would leave the manager with very few options in the final third.

After finishing fourth in the Premier League table last season, qualifying for the Champions League yet again, the squad needs to get bigger, not smaller.

The club's finances are often a huge talking point at Villa Park, but there could be at least one more signing on the cards ahead of 2026-27.

It would appear that Reijnders' future lies away from the Etihad Stadium, and while that's not in England, it could have implications for the Villans.

Al Qadsiah are pushing to sign the 28-year-old midfielder, who has experienced a very disappointing first season with Man City.

According to the Daily Mail, the Saudi Pro League side have already submitted a £52million bid for the player, also attracting interest from Nottingham Forest.

It is understood, however, that Al Qadsiah are hoping to "make room" for the Netherlands international, with Jerry Afriyie potentially being sacrificed.

Villa may finally be able to make a move for Mexico's 2026 World Cup hero, Julian Quinones instead, though, having taken an interest earlier this summer.

Following the World Cup, Football Insider revealed that the Villans were exploring a deal for the 29-year-old winger, who set the tournament alight.

In 2025-26, Quinones notched 37 goals and four assists, and instantly made a name for himself this summer, scoring four and assisting one.

He even scored in Mexico's dramatic round of 16 defeat to England, and while he is primarily a striker, he is capable of playing on the left flank.

It would be a huge step up for the 29-year-old forward, who has only played in Mexico and Saudi Arabia, but World Cup heroes deserve the chance to prove themselves.
