Aston Villa will have to spend around £35million to sign Leo Scienza this summer as Southampton have no plans to let him leave, sources have told Football Insider.

Unai Emery is keen to add to his attacking ranks this summer, particularly on either wing, as Villa prepare to return to the Champions League.

They are lacking real flair and quality in depth on both flanks right now, with several wide stars failing to impress throughout last season.

Villa registered their interest in Southampton star Scienza before the end of last season as he shone with the Championship club.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, they will have to pay at least £35m for the winger's services as the Saints do not need to sell him this summer.

Scienza signed a four-year contract at St Mary's after joining from Heidenheim last September.

Southampton aiming to price Aston Villa out of Leo Scienza move

Sources have exclusively told Football Insider that Scienza is keen on joining a Premier League club, with Spurs also believed to be interested alongside the Villans.

He impressed last season, with seven goals and 10 assists in 37 league games, but it remains to be seen if Villa will pay such a fee for a 27-year-old Championship player.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Scienza is under contract at Southampton until 2029, and it does seem that the club's owner is very reluctant to lose him as well, by putting a huge price tag of £35million on his head."

Villa continuing to monitor Julian Quinones move amid winger search

Villa have been keeping a keen eye on several wide players this summer, and could look to make a move off the back of the World Cup in the coming weeks.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Villa remain interested in Al Qadsiah's Quinones after he impressed at the tournament for co-hosts Mexico.

The 29-year-old became one of his country's most recognisable stars as he bagged four goals in five World Cup games, including a round of 16 strike against England.

He is also coming off the back of a stellar campaign in Saudi Arabia, with 37 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions for Al Qadsiah last season.
