Ibrahim Mbaye must be on Unai Emery's radar for an Aston Villa start in their upcoming fixtures.

The Senegalese winger was benched against Newcastle, which has been a common theme for the summer signing so far.

Mbaye arrived from PSG with plenty of hype, and his qualities can make him a dangerous player.

At 18 years old, there is plenty of time for the African to reach the top, and he is already showing glimpses.

In just his 18-minute cameo against the Geordies, Mbaye proved the hype around him is not false.

He managed to top the charts in a key stat for every player on the pitch.

Ibrahima Mbaye makes his case for more minutes at Aston Villa in Newcastle cameo

Emery may have been given something to think about after Mbaye's impressive cameo against Newcastle.

Despite having just 18 minutes to make an impact, the young winger managed to stand out in several key stats.

Even one of those saw him lead the way at the top of the leaderboard.

The Senegalese winger's three completed dribbles in the match were the most, while only Newcastle's Lewis Hall attempted the same number, as per FotMob.

Furthermore, Mbaye was able to get to the end of a big chance, although he did miss that opportunity.

Nonetheless, it is a sign he can get into the right areas in order to make a difference.

In terms of duels, the 18-year-old also won four out of five of his ground duels. An impressive rate for such a young talent.

He also created one chance in his short appearance at St James' Park.

It was certainly a showing that brought promise, and the young talent will be hoping his efforts are rewarded.

Villa's next game comes against Viking in the Champions League, which could be the perfect opportunity for him.

Ex-Aston Villa scout has one big 'question' about Ibrahim Mbaye

Mbaye's competition at Villa is tough

Mbaye will not have an easy task in breaking into the Aston Villa team.

Emi Buendia has been in top form this season, and Brazilian Alysson is also another player with lots of promise.

Additionally, captain John McGinn is often used out wide, and benching the captain is never an easy choice.

Youngster George Hemmings is also to come back into the fold following his injury.

However, the talent is clearly there, and based on his performance on Saturday evening, it won't be long until he is a regular fixture.
