'I know someone who works with Marcus Rashford' - Everton insider shares transfer reveal

Marcus Rashford's decision on his Manchester United future will be taken with the advice of key members of his inner circle led by performance coach Danny Donache.

That is according to former senior Aston Villa and Everton scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.

The 28-year-old was set to stay put at Barcelona, where he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in a season-long loan, but the Spanish giants opted against activating his £26million option to buy.

Rashford will return to United this summer, where he is under contract until 2028, with his next steps not yet clear.

Villa have been credited with reigniting the winger's career during his loan last year, during which he seemed to rediscover his confidence.

There has been some talk of Rashford returning this summer, and he could be signed for a £40m clause in his contract at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford's inner circle key to transfer decision

Rashford is reportedly weighing up the possibility of staying put at Man United this summer.

The problem that led to the winger's departure stemmed from Ruben Amorim, with new manager Michael Carrick having previously played with him.

However, should a move to Villa become a possibility, it remains to be seen how Rashford would react.

"It's not out of the question. I know a boy who works with him. He's a psychologist. He's a fellow called Danny Donachie," King told Football Insider.

"Danny's a very nice lad.  Worked with me at Everton. He was at Everton when I was there. He's an advisor to a lot of footballers.

"Danny Donachie works closely with Marcus Rashford, as he does with quite a few other top-class players. So, I would imagine he could be quite influential in the future for Marcus Rashford. I know he flew out quite a few times to Barcelona."

King added: "People like this will be quite influential, along with the agents, on deciding where the player will go."

Marcus Rashford 'has Unai Emery to thank' as return whispers swirl - Aston Villa expert

What did Unai Emery say about Rashford?

When Rashford was called up to the England squad for the World Cup, he publicly thanked several people.

Among them was Unai Emery, who managed to get the winger back towards his best.

"He is a good guy, he is humble, he is a very good professional player, he is really happy with his team-mates," said Emery in April last year.

"He has been demanding of himself. I think he is playing free. The first thing is to try and connect with him as a person, then after that to connect with him as a player."

Should a move be possible this summer, the pair would surely have good reason to reunite.
