'It's like two new signings' - Aston Villa to be transformed by duo
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery will have Brian Madjo and Leon Goretzka to add to his team after Saturday's 2-2 draw with Brentford.
That is according to former senior Villa scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
The Villans were pegged back by the Bees, who had initially gone ahead through Yehor Yarmoliuk before Nicolas Jackson found the equaliser.
John McGinn had looked to win it for Villa in the 77th minute, but it would take just two minutes for Kristoffer Ajer to render the scores level once more.
The draw makes it just one win from six to kick off the new Premier League season for Emery's side, who have struggled for any defensive security.
Villa will host Fenebahce in the Champions League on Wednesday, before travelling to Newcastle United on Saturday for another difficult Premier League clash.
Aston Villa set for double 'big plus'
Madjo and Goretzka will provide entirely different benefits for Villa, but both will be equally valuable for Emery.
The former will provide a youthful and energetic both off the bench and from the start, while the latter arrives with huge experience.
Both officially arrived at the club in the summer but have spent weeks out injured, though Madjo managed to make an appearance and score his first goal for Villa against PSG in the Super Cup.
"He's [Goretzka] had this knee problem. Left knee problem, of course, he's hoping to get himself back in the next week," King told Football Insider.
"It'll be interesting to see if he does get back, because anybody of that experience will be a positive.
"It's funny how you've got somebody with that experience and the young boy, the young centre-forward, they could both be a big plus for Villa. It's like two new signings."
Unai Emery to receive bench transformation
In need of an impact going forward against Brentford on Saturday, Emery looked to his bench and brought on both Ibrahim Mbaye and Alysson.
Looking for security in midfield, he was only able to turn to Ross Barkley to replace Joao Gomes.
But with Goretzka and Madjo incoming, the Spaniard will see his bench options boosted significantly in the coming games.
Having a seven-time Bundesliga winner and one of Europe's most exciting young strikers to turn to is a luxury few managers can boast to have.
