Jadon Sancho is looking for his next club after being released by Manchester United.

The 26-year-old will officially be a free agent when his contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the month.

Sancho has spent the past year on loan at Aston Villa, in a mixed spell which ended with the forward lifting the Europa League trophy.

Michael Carrick though does not see Sancho as part of his plans for the future, with Man United's £71million purchase of the England international from Borussia Dortmund having proved unsuccessful.

Sancho's last appearance for the club came at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, and he leaves having contributed only 12 goals and six assists in 83 matches.

Man United also confirmed that Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia had left Old Trafford, as the club looks to offload fringe players in aid of their summer transfer plans.

Jadon Sancho to Aston Villa odds revealed

According to one leading UK bookmaker, Sancho has a 6/1 chance of signing for Aston Villa permanently this summer.

That is despite the Villans not taking up the option to sign Sancho permanently at the end of his loan spell.

Turkish side Besiktas at 4/1 and Borussia Dortmund at 9/2 are the favourites to sign Sancho.

Fellow Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are 5/1 and 6/1, whilst Premier League duo Everton and Tottenham are both priced at 16/1.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Sancho is set for talks with Borussia Dortmund over returning to Germany for a third spell, and that is a likely destination for the player.

What has Unai Emery said about Jadon Sancho return?

In February, Unai Emery was open to the idea of Aston Villa signing Sancho permanently.

Emery said at the time: "He will need another contract, and maybe it could be here. If he plays his best football, we will want him. But also other teams could be involved in the interest for him."

The Spaniard was still not fully decided when he spoke out again about Sancho's future in May.

"Now we are finishing the season. We will reflect and analyse each situation. We will decide it, but not yet," Emery said.

Aston Villa are expected to sign a new forward this summer, and they face losing star Morgan Rogers to Arsenal.
